We had the ultrasound yesterday and Little Guy is still breech. He's looking good in there otherwise. Good amniotic fluid and he's estimated at 5lb 11 oz. This morning at 7:30, Dr. Payne is going to try to turn him. The procedure is done at the hospital just in case anything goes wrong. The process is guided by ultrasound and external fetal monitoring.
When I first heard of an external cephalic version, I heard that they were done in the hospital due to the risk of immediate c-section. Dr. Payne told me that he has been doing these for 29 years and has only had one end in a c-section that day. The process is only 50-50 on successful turning, so half of them end up in later c-sections, but only 1 was an "emergency".
Tomorrow we close on the house and move in over the weekend- nothing like adventures in the Lawrance family! A long-time friend of mine modeled the baby and house at once thing. Her baby was two weeks early. She left one house for the hospital and came home from the hospital to the new home. Her husband closed on both houses at 3PM after their daughter had been born at 1AM. We took her advice and got Ken power of attorney a few weeks ago. I should be a closing tomorrow just fine, but it doesn't hurt to have that little insurance policy just in case.
